Mourning Andree Doucet

Andree Doucet was a founding member of the Mai-Kai show. She had started in the United States ae the Hilton Hawaiian Village for five years.She was followed to the Mai-Kai by her sister Leilani Doucet and her cousin Liva.

She was married to fellow Mai-Kai performer Heitapu.

She had been battling lung cancer for years. I was able to interview her while she was in Florida for treatments and meet her at the Mai-Kai anniversary. I asked if she was going back to Tahiti and she replied “I am not fucking dying in Florida!”
